Daniel’s first-ever 24-hour race saw his Beechdean Aston Martin team qualify on pole, lose 30 laps to a sudden mechanical failure, then soldier on through the night to achieve a hard-earned top 10 in their class.
Daniel returned home from a tough weekend at Spa with a maiden Formula Two podium as his reward for battling through set-up problems and atrocious weather conditions.
Coming to Spa is always a great experience for me. It is hands-down the best circuit I have driven to date so I always look forward to this Belgium round.
Ultimately, this is my favourite circuit of all time, nothing else comes close to it. I love the high-speed corners and the rapid chicanes. After my win at Rockingham I was looking forward to getting in another here.
Coming to Spa is a real treat for all drivers; this circuit is my outright favourite of all time for many reasons, the main reason being the fast corner of Eau rouge being the most exciting corner of all time regardless of wet dry conditions.
After first qualifying the weather wasn’t quite so promising with a sudden downpour 15 minutes before the session was to start. I was very confident about the session ahead as the car had been improving throughout the weekend and showing pace in difficult conditions.
