Daniel has welcomed a positive start to the racing season after he competed in the opening rounds of the 2012 Formula 2 championship at Silverstone this weekend.
After Oulton Park I came away with decent points on the board after a hard first weekend. Silverstone was the first race for which I had the full updates available on the car and I was looking forward to scoring further points.
Last time I raced at Silverstone I had 1st place snatched from me on the last lap on the second race which really annoyed in more ways than you can imagine and so I wanted this visit to be very different.
Second qualifying I had to make up some lost ground on Dias and make some set up changes that would help the car in producing a better lap time. From the lack of practice time from overheating difficulties I couldn’t set the car up as quickly as I would have liked.

After qualifying second for both races by only 0.1 of a second to Gabriel Dias I would always be on the back foot, so the start to the race would be the most important part.
After finishing second in the first race I wanted a first place to finish the weekend off well, starting second place again put me at a disadvantage but I knew I had good starts off the line so I thought I could get into the lead and stay there after some positive changes made to the car after race one.
